Dear Blog,

Typoon No 8 is hoisted. Wind is howling out there.

I was writing email tonight and no kidding, the building where my family is living, was shaking, for many times.

Our apartment is on the 22nd floor. Though the feeling is not to compare with earthquake, still, pretty scary for a Hong Konger. Suddenly, i feel like Life can be a lot shorter than you think.

A dear friend has recommeded a book for me, which called "Courage" (by Bernard Waber) .

COURAGE IS STARTING OVER.

a corner for my memories

Dear blog,

Can't believe it takes me nearly 10 months to start writing this blog again. I wonder are there anybody still interest to read about it. Well, it doesnt matter, coz now i am only writing the blog for myself, as i hope this will be a corner for my memories.

Sometimes, it takes time to face the past...

Sometimes, it's hard to live in a seperate realities...

it's hard to say goodbye to your dreams...and it's desperated to know...possibly those days wont come back again.

Sorry i cant keep my promise to update the blog, sorry if i had let you down.

Dear Blog,

I just glimsped through all the pics which I have been uploaded in the past 2 years...not many, meant a lot to me though. Sometimes, I wonder am I in a dream, a long long dream which is too good to be true...but i knew that they are all real and they had happened: stunning sunrise viewed from Mt Flyee, lupin flowers in Tekapo, warm hospitality I ever experienced from the lovely friends (some of them became my family ) of New Zealand and all over the world, adventures in South east Asia.....and Him.

Time is such an interesting thing. It stops for no one. Sometimes you just hope the time will freeze for that special moment or maybe just slow down a little bit...the good memories will always stay in my heart, i will remember every smiling face, helping hand, warm hug, all the laughters and tears we shared...

Coz they all became part of me...
The better me, because of you
Maybe i will see you soon,

Just hope someday, i can see you again.

Safe trip back home-Finally

Dear Blog,

I'm home...finally....after six hundred and something days on the road, i m here in Hong Kong.
It's just about one week here, but life is much more busy than i can imgaine...
Even though i m home at this moment, like the name of my blog: life is a journey, hence i will keep posting my "adventure @ Hong Kong", so as to keep abreast of my news to friends from far far away...(hey, i know we are so close with our hearts!!)

My latest adventures...
~Promised my best friend to be the Maid of Honor of her wedding, she is adventureous too, just to have such an idea, ha~
~First time surfing in HK, Big Wave Bay on Hong Kong Island...the "price" is soooo high, coz the skin on my leg peeled off because the surf board i rented sucks.....had good fun though as surfing always bring me good memories

~well......the third one is....it doesnt count, coz i only witnessed my bro to eat Pig's tongue,a snack food found on the roadside stall... (Yep, i mean the tongue in your mouth, but this is the tongue of a pig.....YAK!!!!!! ) Well, he insisted it tastes good (Beau-ti-ful~~~) and perusaded me to try...i would rather admit that i m a coward under this circumstance :P

Please give me some time.......wanna catch up with you guys soon!!! Miss u as always~~

Holiday on Holiday-Gili Meno

Dear Blog,

Hiya, i m leaving Bali and going to Gili Meno, an island near Lombok for 10 days on tomorrow!!That's probably my last trip before heading back home...meanwhile, i guess i wont use internet, so dun worries about me, i will be alright and catch you up when i come back!!!

PS. share with you guys one thing, i m becoming a surfer now, though i have several medals...bruises, cuts and sometimes head banged on surf board...i still love it, great fun to be a surfer!! and on the fourth day to learn surfing, i have managed to surf for a long distance...haha...

Thanks God for keeping me safe in the ocean, and thank millions for my surfing master-K

Thailand-Cambodia-Thailand

Dear Blog,

Hey~it's me again!!! I'm back...what did i do before? just like what i have told you, travelling with a good friend Amy, saying farewell to her not long ago in mid-Aug. Really blissful to have friends coming over and travelling together, we had a good time in Thailand together!! The only consequnece is my wallet lost a lot of weigh, haha~well, it still worthwhile for a shopaholic like me :D , show you the pics soon~~

After that, i went to Cambodia, in fact, only Siem Reap for a week, to visit Angkor Wat~~ and met up another ex-colleague, Chun Chun, she just came back from her Australia working holiday, and now she is travelling in Asia as well. We pedalled in Angkor Wat for a day, just did the small circuit tour, since Angkor Wat is huge, so we had to hire a Tuk Tuk driver for two days in order to see more of the world heritage!!

yeah...we all deserved a cold drink after whole day sightseeing, our tuk tuk driver Thone, 23 yrs old~~

Share with you a Story of Miss Stubborn (Journey to Angkor)

The bus trip took about 16 hours, from Bangkok to the Thai Cambodia border and then from the border to Siem Reap, the town where Angkor Wat locates.

Because i m kinda lazy, so i didnt do the trip by myself (pros is i can be hassle free, free from the scam of the travel agent, long waiting time, save a little bit money etc)...instead, i paid 350 baht, around HKD 87 to take the bus from travel agent.

The Visa on arrival at the border is supposed to be US$20, because of corruption, the officer they normally charges $1000 Baht, about US $30...and the travel agent even ask for $1200 Baht...of coz, i ignored them, at first, there were some other foregin couples insisted to do the visa by themsevles, around 5 of us...later on, the agency took us to a restaurant and persuaded us again....saying something like: it's not possible not to give bribe to the officer, you have to wait for half day at the border, and they wont let you go, thousands of people waiting on a long queue...some scary things like that~~then, all the others surrounded~~shame....only the stubborn ME insisted to do it at the border (my tactic is pretend to have no $$, and on a very tight budget~haha, well, kind of~)....i m the only one among 40 people of them, still havent got a visa from Cambodia...a bit worry indeed at that time....

When i arrived at the border, i went straight to the visa service (no queue at all!!!!), the officers really asked for $1000Baht (US $30)~~then, i told them i have only got US$20 with me, no extra money to pay...they said you can exchange $$$/ withdraw $$$ or pay $25 US~~of coz i didnt argue with them, just pretend to be a single woman traveller without much $$ left~~haha :P you know, after i said i have no money, they gave me back the passport straight away >_<!!. then, i went to the counter again, to plead with the officer in uniform and bargain with him...because i didnt want to keep the bus waiting, so i adjusted my bottom line a little bit, negotiated to pay $22 Us and 50 baht...and he accepted finally, of coz not very willingly~but when i paid, i gave them only $22 US...and u know what ???the officer also didnt forget to remind me to pay for the 50 baht!!! well........they really need to squeeze every penny out of your pocket....

After that, some other travellers were very curious about how much i paid for the visa, and asked what i negotiatied for~~i told them i was negotiating for the visa fee~because i dun think i should pay more than $20 US as it should be, if i was travelling alone, i mean no bus waiting for me, i will insist just to pay $20~ they were so suprised i can do that, and i could see a little bit regrettable expression on their faces, because they paid at least $25 or even $30 US.....well, it turns out i paid around $23 US....but i felt good...not just because of saving the poor little amount of money...but because i m so sick of the scam and corruption....

it seems that i was talking all about money,hope that i wont make you feel bored...but to me, it's about what i should do and should not do....who to trust and who not to....when to hold on (being stubborn?) or when to let go...in this developing countries, sometimes, i dont mind to let others to earn a bit money, but i think it should be in a reasonable and fair way...

Even i spent some time to apply the visa, but i was exactly the same waiting time as others...so, it proved again that just turn a deaf ear to those nonsense travel agents, always saying: that's impossible~bababa...if i have faith, i think it's all possible

Dear Blog,

Hello~I have been travelling in Thailand for a week~and tonight i will go to the airport to pick up my good friend, Amy from HK, we are going to do some crazy shoppings and eating and sunbathing in the following weeks~hopefully there will have some more sunshine here~ even though i am tan enough now~ (or dark?? whatever~)

Here are some pics i took in Laos before, enjoy : D

Vang Vieng: Flooding in Vang Vieng...therefore, no tubing(except for the kids as follow, tubing... as far as i know is a person sitting into a tyre with a bowl inside, and flow along the river...great fun indeed!!)but on those days i was there, it was just too dangerous to do so >_<
Well...cant do tubing was not a big deal, i feel sorry for the local people, especially some of them living along the riverbank...i guess the owners of restuarants are the only group of ppl who can benefit from the flooding~ even though there was a flooding, i can feel that people were not really bother or frustrated by it~maybe they used to see it happen? or Laos are optimists, God bless them~
